1986, September 3 in San Diego, California a legend was born! But he had a heart condition called Tetralogy of Fallot which affects the amount of oxygen in a person's blood in a bad way. Before he even turned a year old he had open heart surgery, twice!!!! His parents are Roger and Cathy White. Jesse was his older brother who was seven years older than him. Roger White was a surfer, and Jesse was a skateboarder, so it's no question as to where Shaun got his love of Snowboarding, Skateboarding and Surfing! As a child he loved to ski and bounce on the family's trampoline. |

 Shaun White created a new trick recently. He used it in the 2010 Vancuever Olympic Games. He set a record and on the Gold. Back in the 2006 Torino Olympic Games he also won a Gold Medal. So far he has Two Gold Medals. |
Shaun learned to snowboard at Bear Mountain which is a popular California Ski resort. But they wouldn't let anyone under twelve in, so his dad took the lessons, and when he got home he would teach Shaun what he had learned. That is how Shaun learned snowboarding. |
